Step-by-Step:Crochet Term: Space After

1.Find the stitch or cluster referenced.
Example:“DC in the space after the puff stitch.”

2.Locate the open gap directly following that stitch or group.
It may be a chain space or natural opening between stitches.

3.Insert your hook there,to make the next stitch as directed.

4.Repeat pattern as written, the “space after” is used to create even spacing or decorative placement.

Example:

Work 1 SC in the space after the puff stitch; means place your hook in the next open gap right after the puff.
