What You Will Do
You will place 12 double crochet stitches into the center of the magic ring.
Instructions
- Chain 3 - This counts as your first double crochet stitch.
- Work 11 double crochet stitches into the magic ring.
- Pull the yarn tail tightly to close the center hole.
- Join with a slip stitch into the top of the beginning chain 3.
- Chain 1.
Stitch Count
You should now have: 12 double crochet stitches total
Round 2
What You Will Do
In this round, you will increase in every stitch to make the circle larger.
Instructions
- Chain 2 - This counts as your first double crochet.

Joining the Bag Panels
Step 1: Mark the Center
- Find the bottom center of your front panel.
- Place a stitch marker there.
This point is called Point D.
Step 2: Mark the Strap
- Count the starting chain stitches used before the adjustable strap section.
- Divide this number in half.
- Example: 96 chains ÷ 2 = 48 stitches
- Count 48 stitches from the strap join.
- Place a stitch marker there.
This point is called Point C.
- Step 3: Match the Panel
- Count the same number of stitches on the front panel.
- Mark the stitch.
This is where the strap will begin attaching.
Step 4: Attach the Strap
- Place the strap and panel together with right sides facing inward.
- Match the stitch markers.
- Use single crochet stitches to join:
- From Point C
- Around Point D
- To Point B
Step 5: Repeat
Repeat the same process for the back panel.
Final Step
Turn the bag right side out.
Your chunky crochet crossbody bag is now complete.
